To mark the opening of the new Tate Modern, we’re celebrating with three days of art and one-of-a-kind events.
From Friday to Sunday, take in performance-based works throughout the building, plus a range of activities, workshops, talks and installations. All events are free and open to all.

HIGHLIGHTS
In a packed weekend, you could stumble upon 500 people singing in a choral piece, crafted by artist Peter Liversidge. Or experiment with ‘This Is Where We Are’, a large-scale digital sculpture using live data from visitors and the building. Drop by the Starr Cinema to see film and video works from Tate Collection. Create your own mini-model of the new Switch House building, and add it to a collaborative sculpture. Imagine what a better future looks like, with Uniqlo’s playful large-scale installation, ‘London Dreaming’.
PERFORMANCE: BMW TATE LIVE
Experience five live works from the Tate collection that appear unexpectedly, and two new performances in The Tanks.
FRIDAY NIGHT: FUTURE LATE
A late night event programmed by Tate Collective London, a group of 15-25 year olds who run free events for young people at Tate. Pop in to have your own sculptural portrait made by Jean Jullien, shake a leg in front of Isabel and Helen’s kinetic sculpture, and enjoy music from DJs and musicians handpicked by Radar Radio.
FAMILIES
'Players' is an audio adventure for kids to explore, perform and play with artists, dancers and fellow visitors. 'Generators' is an interactive studio of projections and props, for young visitors to compose, improvise and discover.
TALKS AND TOURS
Join a Uniqlo 10 Minute Art Talk to hear Tate staff talk about their favourite artworks. Or learn about how to ‘make it’ in a creative industry in one of the ‘Future Talks’.
